Where South Tyrol becomes a special experience

Lush meadows and grazing cows, breathtaking rock formations that are mirrored in the crystal clear water of the mountain lakes and then the indescribably superior feeling of having reached the peak. The South Tyrolean mountains fascinate with their variety of nature and the innumerable hiking possibilities. You can choose between the peaks of the Dolomites, the high alpine valleys of the Nature Park Texelgruppe or the century-old paths along little streams in the middle of orchards and vineyards in blossom. South Tyrol will enchant you. We will be glad to suggest you nice excursions.

Tourists have been fascinated by the South Tyrolean mountains for centuries. You can learn about the beginnings of tourism in South Tyrol, when the first European nobles seeking tranquillity and inspiration – one of whom was the young Austrian Empress Sissi – came to South Tyrol, in the new interactive museum for tourism at Trauttmansdorff Castle.

The area around Merano also is a paradise for bikers. Numerous new bicycle paths have been built along the Vinschgau and Adige Valleys lately. A special experience is travelling by the new Vinschgau Valley train that brings you from Merano to the most beautiful places of the Vinschgau Valley. You can, of course, also take your bike with you. The well-preserved Churburg Castle with the world’s biggest private armoury and the medieval town of Glorenza with perfectly preserved town walls are both worth a visit.

The golf courses Passiria and Lana are quite near, at only a few minutes by car. The 18-hole golf course of the Golf Club Passiria/Merano will also satisfy very experienced golf players due to the course that is harmoniously set in the alpine landscape.

Shopping in Merano is as varied as the many leisure time activities in the middle of nature. The medieval arcades until the parish church of St. Nicholas run parallel to the chic spa promenade. Enchanting small boutiques and traditional department stores are hidden under the shady arcades, awaiting you with lots of beautiful ideas for a present for your dear ones at home.

Merano’s special charm can best be seen here: the Italian ease in the street cafés, the Mediterranean joie de vivre in the numerous parks, the heritage of the K&K monarchy in the exclusive residential area of Maia Alta and along the Tappeiner Walk and the traditional South Tyrolean hospitality in the typical restaurants of the old town – nowhere else will you experience such a magic of variety.

Situated in a quiet, but nevertheless central location in the middle of the exclusive residential area of Maia Alta, the Tiffany is an ideal starting point for all your leisure time activities in South Tyrol. We will, of course, be at your disposal for planning your excursions!
